Overview

SnapMock is a Chrome Extension that captures screenshots and wraps them in device mockup frames. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Data Collection

SnapMock does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

What SnapMock Does NOT Do

Does not send screenshots or images to any server
Does not track your browsing activity
Does not collect analytics or usage data
Does not use cookies or tracking technologies
Does not share any data with third parties

What SnapMock Does

Screenshot capture: Screenshots are captured locally in your browser and never leave your device
Image processing: All mockup rendering, background application, and annotation drawing happens locally using the Canvas API
License validation (Pro users only): If you purchase a Pro license, your license key is sent to Polar's API solely to verify your license status. No other data is transmitted.
Local storage: Your preferences (selected frame, background) and license key are stored locally in Chrome's storage. This data never leaves your browser.

Permissions

SnapMock requests the following Chrome permissions:

activeTab: Used only to capture a screenshot of the currently visible tab when you click the capture button
storage: Used to save your preferences and Pro license key locally
scripting: Used to inject the area selection overlay when you choose "Select Area"
host_permissions (all URLs): Required for keyboard shortcut-triggered captures to work on any webpage

Third-Party Services

The only external service SnapMock communicates with is Polar (our payment processor), and only when a Pro user activates or validates their license key. Polar's privacy policy can be found at polar.sh/legal/privacy.

Children's Privacy

SnapMock does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above.
